Receptionist/Administration Assistant – Traineeship

The Illawarra ITeC is a Registered Training Organisation and provides small business advisory services, training & various government funded employment services throughout the Illawarra and Southern NSW Region.


This entry level position offers an opportunity to learn a broad range of administrative skills working across all the services ITeC provides and is the first contact with our many clients and key external stakeholders.


We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person who shows a genuine willingness to learn and extend their knowledge and experience in an administrative setting.  You will have achieved Year 10 or above and have;


  • Good communication skills and be interested in providing excellent customer service and an ability to deal directly with the public.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve problems and be a quick thinker.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, multitask and meet specific outcomes.
  • Ability to work without supervision and use own initiative.
  • Able to work as part of busy team.
  • Personal presentation of a very high standard.
  • Current Driver’s License (or willing to obtain).
  • Intermediate level computer skills (Microsoft Office & Internet experience) and typing 35wpm.

As part of the interview process you will be required to undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy and a Typing Test.  If successful, you will need to complete a Working With Children Check and be committed to undertaking a Cert III or Cert IV business qualification.

The salary will be in accordance with the National Training Wage Schedule plus salary sacrificing, super and leave loading.  This is a 12 month Traineeship contract.
